Jesus Christ has given us the best possible gift: a right relationship with God. In response to his grace, we are committed to spreading his Good News and doing Good Works, both locally and globally. At Crossroads, we are focusing our international work in Mozambique, on the southeast coast of Africa.

Do you want to know how you can be a part of what God is doing in this country?

Upcoming Opportunities:

  • Healing Hands, September 4-16, 2010

The next trip to Mozambique is the Healing Hands team. As with all missions in Mozambique, our primary goal is to share the gospel of Christ with those who do not yet know him. This will be our focus as we work in the area of Inhambane to improve the health of individuals and of the community, and teach Mozambicans to sew and to maintain sewing machines (possibly treadle machines as well as electric).

At this point we are accepting applications for the Medical/Sewing trip. Based on the skills of the people called to this trip, we will talk with the leaders in Mozambique to determine how, when, and where our group can best be used. If you might be interested, please email mozambique@crossroadsumc.org with your contact information or pick up an application packet from in the office in Oakdale. The application process refines our knowledge of the skills available and gives those interested an opportunity to determine if God is calling them to this particular trip. Team selection has begun, but we are still accepting applications.

You are also encouraged to obtain or renew your passport as soon as possible in preparation.

Ongoing Opportunities:

Prayer – This is our number one need, and the best use of our time.
      Please pray:
    • - That the people of Mozambique will be open to the gospel.
    • - That God will work on behalf of the poor and the oppressed, bringing justice, freedom, and peace.
  • Support Team – You don't have to go to Mozambique in order to be a part of the team. We are looking for support team members who are able to:
    • - Coordinate prayer coverage
    • - Coordinate publicity and communication
    • - Even cook meals for some of the team meetings!

If you would like to help in any of these ways, or if you have other help you would like to offer please email mozambique@crossroadsumc.org

Crossroads has decided to partner with Mozambicans in focusing on these areas, while always presenting the Good News, to impact the country.
