Details are becoming more finalized for our trip to Pass Christian this February 12 - 20. While there, we will be working with the Boys and Girls Club. Our hope is to go and love on these kids with God’s love, to give them a glimpse into a different part of the world, and to make their week a little brighter. They have a beautiful new facility that we can take advantage of while we’re there.

You can be a part of this effort in a variety of ways. First of all, if you love working with children or teens, consider being a Team Leader. The children and youth will be broken out by age, and you can tell us if you have a heart for a particular age group. The Team Leaders will work with the same group of kids all day, and likely on Wednesday as well. They will be responsible for taking the kids around to the various activities throughout the day. (Think of this as being like a camp counselor without the sleepovers and teeth brushing!)You’ll have a great opportunity to get to know the kids and really speak into their lives in a more concentrated way.

An equally valuable way to jump in is to offer to lead one of the activities as an Activity Leader. Throughout the day, the groups will be going to as many as five different activities. We need capable leaders in areas such as crafts, sports (kickball, etc.), painting, music, cooking, etc. (Please notice that I said capable – it is not necessary that you be an expert!) We’d even love to have someone to work with the students in dance! If you have a skill that you would feel comfortable leading and teaching to the students, even if we haven’t mentioned it yet, please let us know. We’d love to see if we can make it fit into our time there. We’re looking to have innovative things to bring to them while we’re in town. Activities should be safe (perhaps this isn’t the time to teach them how to break boards with their heads…. lol) and should be able to be worked on in a 90 minute session.
